Online Craps in Australia 2026: Best Craps Casinos, Rules, Bets and Strategy

Craps is the thinnest table game online, and this page says so: of the six casinos this site tests, four deal it, one of them live. The ranking covers those four, with Evolution's Live Craps at the top. The rest of the page is the game itself: the come-out, the point and the odds bet, every bet on the layout with its payout and house edge, the strategy the arithmetic supports, a calculator and a free Pass line simulator, and a guide to sic bo, the dice game most lobbies carry instead.

A word on why this ranking has four names rather than the six that appear elsewhere on this site. Craps is the thinnest table game online: only one studio, Evolution, deals it live, and most casino lobbies carry one RNG version or none. Of the six casinos this site tests, Rainbet has the live table, RocketPlay, Fair Go and Vegastars have an RNG table, and WinSpirit and Neospin showed no craps table at all on the test, so they are left out rather than listed for a game they do not have.

The order weighs whether the craps is live or RNG, whether the odds bet is on the layout, what other dice games sit beside it, whether any promotion returns anything on craps play, and the site-wide criteria of banking, licence and support. Rainbet leads on the live table alone; its terms exclude craps from rakeback, which is said plainly on its card. RocketPlay follows with RNG craps and live sic bo under a weekly cashback. Fair Go and Vegastars are the two AUD accounts, one with a demo table and Apple Pay, the other with PayID and an instant cashback.

Online Craps for Real Money in Australia: Live Table, RNG Tables and What to Check

Craps online comes in two forms that pay the same odds and feel nothing alike. The live table is Evolution's Live Craps: a real table in a studio, a dealer who launches the dice, a betting window between throws, and an interface that shows the layout, the player's bets and a tutorial for anyone new to the game. The RNG table is a graphic of the layout where the player clicks to bet and clicks to roll, with the result drawn from a certified random number generator, at whatever pace the player sets.

What to Check Before a Real-Money Session

  • The odds multiple. The odds bet is the reason to play craps at all; a layout that allows 3-4-5x or more turns a 1.41% game into a 0.37% one. The table's help panel states the maximum.
  • The field payout on 12. Double on 2 and 12 is 5.56%; triple on the 12 is 2.78%. The number is printed on the layout.
  • Place bet payouts. 7:6 on the 6 and 8, 7:5 on the 5 and 9, 9:5 on the 4 and 10 are the standard; a table that pays 7:6 only in multiples of AU$6 needs the stake sized to it.
  • Promotion terms. A welcome match counts craps at 0% at Vegastars, 5% at RocketPlay and excludes it at Fair Go; the cashbacks count it, and Rainbet's terms exclude it from rakeback. The bonuses page compares the schemes.
  • A withdrawal route that clears in a day. Rainbet in minutes, Vegastars in about an hour, RocketPlay within 24 hours of approval, Fair Go within two business days; the banking page has the timed figures.

How to Play Craps: Rules, Bets and House Edge

Craps is a sequence of rolls of two dice with a bet that lives across several of them. Everything on the layout is either a bet on how that sequence ends or a one-roll bet on the next throw. The game looks dense because the layout prints every bet at once; the rules fit in a paragraph.

The Come-Out Roll and the Point

  1. Come-out roll. With a Pass line bet down, a 7 or 11 wins at even money and a 2, 3 or 12 loses. Any other total, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, becomes the point and a marker goes on that number.
  2. Point rolls. The shooter keeps rolling. If the point repeats before a 7, the Pass bet wins even money. If a 7 comes first, the Pass bet loses and the round ends.
  3. Don't Pass is the mirror: loses on 7 or 11 at the come-out, wins on 2 or 3, pushes on 12 (which is where the house keeps its edge), and after a point wins if the 7 comes first.
  4. Odds. Once a point is set, a Pass bettor may put an extra bet behind the line that pays at true odds: 2:1 on a 4 or 10, 3:2 on a 5 or 9, 6:5 on a 6 or 8. A Don't Pass bettor lays odds at the inverse. The casino allows this up to a multiple of the line bet, from 2x to 100x.
  5. Come and Don't Come are Pass and Don't Pass bets made after a point is already set; the next roll is their own come-out, and they travel to their own point.

The table divides into three bands. The line bets and the odds behind them cost 1.4% or less and, with odds, well under 1%; the place bets on 6 and 8 cost 1.5%; everything in the centre of the layout costs 9% to 17%. A session that stays in the first band at AU$10 a round costs a few dollars an hour; the same money spread across the propositions costs ten times as much.

Craps Strategy: The Best Bets, Bankroll and a Calculator

Craps strategy is bet selection. There is no decision inside a roll, no way to influence a dice outcome online, and no betting pattern that changes the expectation; the whole of the player's edge is in choosing bets from the first band of the table above and sizing them to the bankroll. The three approaches below are the ones the arithmetic supports.

Pass Line with Maximum Odds

Bet the table minimum on the Pass line and, once a point is set, the maximum odds the table allows behind it. On a 3-4-5x table that is three times the line bet on a 4 or 10, four times on a 5 or 9, five times on a 6 or 8, which makes every odds win pay the same amount: AU$60 on a AU$10 line bet whatever the point. The combined edge on the money at risk is 0.37%, lower than any blackjack table without card counting. The cost is variance: AU$10 on the line becomes AU$60 on the table on a 6 or 8.

Don't Pass with Lay Odds

The same plan from the other side: Don't Pass at the minimum, lay the maximum odds once a point is set. The edge is 1.36% on the line and 0% on the odds, and because the 7 is the most likely total the Don't player wins most points and loses most come-outs. Laying odds means risking more to win less, AU$60 to win AU$50 against a 6 or 8, which suits a player who prefers many small wins. Betting against the shooter is unremarkable online, where the shooter is the dealer or the player alone.

Place the 6 and 8

For a player who wants action on every roll after the come-out without a line bet: place AU$6 on the 6 and AU$6 on the 8, which pay 7:6 and together cost 1.52%. Ten of the 36 totals win, six lose, and the rest roll again. Take the bets down or leave them working as the bankroll dictates; a place bet can be removed at any time, which a line bet cannot.

What Not to Do

  • No proposition bets. The hardways, Any 7, Any Craps, Yo and the horn cost 9% to 17%; a AU$5 hardway bet every round for an hour costs more than a AU$100 Pass line session.
  • No Big 6 or Big 8. Same bet as placing the 6 or 8, paid 1:1 instead of 7:6.
  • No hedging the line with Any Craps. It converts a 1.41% bet into a bet with a higher blended edge; the come-out loss is part of the price of the Pass line and is already in the 1.41%.
  • No progression. Pressing after wins or doubling after losses changes the shape of the session and not its expectation, as the roulette page shows in a simulator.

Bankroll

Size the session at 40 to 50 times the total on the table at one time, not the line bet: a AU$5 line with 3-4-5x odds puts AU$30 at risk on a 6 or 8, so the session bankroll is AU$1,200 to AU$1,500 for a full-odds plan or AU$200 to AU$250 for a line-only plan. Rounds last several rolls, and a live table deals about 100 rolls an hour, so the turnover per hour is lower than at roulette or baccarat at the same stake.

Craps Bet Calculator and Pass Line Simulator

The calculator takes a bet, a stake and a pace and gives the house edge, the expected cost per hour and, for line bets, the effect of adding odds. The simulator rolls a Pass line bet with odds in the browser, round by round, with a running bankroll; it is a free craps table for learning the come-out, the point and the odds payouts, not a predictor of anything.

Free Online Craps and Simulators: Where to Learn Before Betting

Craps has the steepest learning curve of the table games, not because the rules are hard but because the layout prints thirty bets and the live table moves at a dealer's pace. Three free routes exist, and together they take an afternoon.

  • The simulator above. A Pass line bet with odds, rolled in the browser with a running bankroll, shows the come-out, the point and the odds payouts in a few dozen rolls.
  • Demo craps at Fair Go. The RTG table opens in demo mode at Fair Go without an account, with the whole layout: Come bets, place bets, the field and the propositions. The right place to learn where each bet sits and how the odds bet is placed behind the line.
  • The tutorial on Evolution's Live Craps. The live table at Rainbet carries an on-screen tutorial and a bet helper that shows what each bet would win on the next throw; a player can open the table and watch a few rounds before placing a bet.

What free play cannot teach is the pace of a live betting window with odds to place after every point, or the feel of AU$60 on the table on a AU$10 line bet. Those come at the minimum stake on the real table, which is the next step after the demo and the simulator.

Sic Bo Online: The Other Dice Game, Its Bets and Where to Play It

Sic bo is three dice in a sealed shaker, every bet resolved on one roll, and a layout of totals, combinations and single numbers. It is to craps what roulette is to blackjack: no sequence, no decision after the bet, a wide spread of edges across the layout. Online it is more common than craps, because Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Ezugi all deal it live and most RNG studios have a version, and on this site it is at RocketPlay (live and RNG) and Vegastars (RNG).

Small, Big, Odd and Even at 2.78% are the only sic bo bets within sight of a Pass line, and they cost twice as much. Super Sic Bo, Evolution's version with random multipliers on some bets each round, keeps the Small and Big bets at 2.78% and raises the maximum payouts elsewhere; its published return runs from 97.22% on the best bets downward. A player who wants dice with a low edge is better served by craps; a player who wants a one-roll game with a chance at 180:1 is who sic bo is for.

Online Craps in Australia: Frequently Asked Questions

Is online craps legal in Australia?

Playing is not an offence. The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 prohibits providing online casino games, craps included, to people in Australia, and the ACMA blocks domains of operators that do; the Act contains no offence for the player. The casinos on this page are licensed in Curaçao, Tobique or Anjouan and accept Australians on that basis, and recreational winnings are not taxed.

Where can I play craps online for real money in Australia?

Four of the six casinos on this site deal craps: Rainbet has Evolution's Live Craps with a dealer and the RNG First Person Craps; RocketPlay, Fair Go and Vegastars have RNG craps on their table shelves. Fair Go and Vegastars hold AUD accounts, with Apple Pay and PayID deposits respectively; Rainbet settles in crypto and RocketPlay in either. WinSpirit and Neospin, which appear in the other rankings on this site, showed no craps table on the test and are left out here.

What is the best bet in craps?

The odds bet behind a Pass or Don't Pass line bet, which pays at true odds and carries no house edge at all. The line bet itself costs 1.41% on Pass and 1.36% on Don't Pass; with 3-4-5x odds the combined edge on the money at risk falls to 0.37%, with 10x odds to 0.18%. Place bets on 6 and 8 at 1.52% are the next best. Everything in the middle of the layout, the hardways, Any 7, Any Craps and the horn, costs 9% to 17% and belongs to no strategy.

How do you play craps?

A round starts with the come-out roll. A Pass line bet wins on a 7 or 11, loses on a 2, 3 or 12, and on any other total that number becomes the point. The shooter then rolls until either the point repeats, which wins the Pass bet, or a 7 appears, which loses it. Don't Pass is the opposite side, with the 12 as a push on the come-out. Once a point is set the player may add an odds bet behind the line, which pays at the true odds of the point against the 7. Come and Don't Come bets work the same way for a new point inside a round. The rules section on this page covers every bet with its payout and house edge.

What is the house edge in craps?

It depends entirely on the bet. Pass 1.41%, Don't Pass 1.36%, odds 0%, Pass with 3-4-5x odds 0.37% combined, place 6 or 8 1.52%, place 5 or 9 4.00%, place 4 or 10 6.67%, field 5.56% (2.78% when the 12 pays triple), Big 6 and Big 8 9.09%, hardway 6 or 8 9.09%, hardway 4 or 10 11.11%, Any Craps 11.11%, Yo 11 11.11%, horn 12.50%, Any 7 16.67%. Evolution's Live Craps publishes a maximum return of 99.17%, which is the combined Pass-and-odds figure on that table.

Can I play craps online for free?

RNG craps at Fair Go opens in demo mode without an account, with the full layout and the same payouts as the real-money table; it is the right place to learn the come-out, the point and the odds bet before betting. The simulator on this page runs a Pass line bet with odds in the browser for the same purpose. Live craps is real money only, though the Evolution table lets a player watch and use the built-in tutorial before betting.

Is sic bo the same as craps?

No. Sic bo is three dice in a shaker and every bet resolves on one roll; there is no point, no shooter and no odds bet. The lowest-edge bets, Small and Big, cost 2.78%, about twice the Pass line; the specific-triple bet costs 30% at 180:1. Sic bo is dealt live from Evolution (Super Sic Bo, with multipliers) and other studios, and on this site it is at RocketPlay, live and RNG, and on the RNG shelf at Vegastars. The sic bo section on this page gives every bet with its edge.

Online craps in Australia in 2026 is one live table and a handful of RNG tables at offshore casinos, and a game whose whole strategy is to stay on the line bets and the odds behind them. The four casinos ranked above are the ones on this site that deal it: Rainbet for Evolution's live table, RocketPlay for RNG craps with live sic bo, Fair Go for a demo table in an AUD account, Vegastars for RNG craps with PayID and instant cashback. The blackjack, roulette and baccarat pages rank the full six for those games, and the banking page shows how to fund the account.

Ready to roll?

Rainbet tops the craps ranking: Evolution's Live Craps with the odds bet and an on-screen tutorial, a provably fair dice game of its own and crypto payouts in minutes.
